Annie Adams Obituary

With a whisper, Annie Rae Holloway Adams heard the Lord call her name, she answered that call Thursday, October 18, 2018 and departed this earthly life for an eternal life within a blink of an eye.

Born February 2, 1942, Annie was the daughter of the late Richard and Iola Holloway; grandparents Richard and Lucretia Holloway were instrumental in her up-bringing after the death of her mother.

Annie received her education at Twin City High School.  At an early age, Annie joined Solomon Temple Holiness Church.  Later in life, she joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she faithfully served until her health declined.  She was a member of the Senior Choir and Floral Club.  Annie worked for many years at Rikard’s Nursing Home and Amick’s Poultry.

Annie enjoyed cooking, and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.  She made her home a safe haven for the young and old alike, her love and kindness will never be forgotten.Annie was married to the late Earnest Adams Jr.  Annie was preceded in death by her son, George Holloway; one brother, Lee Holloway; one sister Marie Rivas.

Annie leaves to cherish fond memories:  two daughters – Reverend Iola (Stephen) Meadows of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and Tammy Williams of Irmo, South Carolina; three sons – Earnest (Bonnie) Adams, III of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; Gary Romond (April) Adams of Lexington, South Carolina and Antonio D. Williams of Mississippi; three brothers – Louis Holloway of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, Richard (Porcha) Holloway and Robert Holloway of New York; one brother-in-law – Harry Rivas of St. Port Lucie, Florida; three sisters-in-law – Helen (James) Sumpter and Thomasina Adams, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and Ollie Mae Folks of Columbia, South Carolina; one daughter-in-law – Sonja Holloway of Irmo, South Carolina; grandchildren – Willie Dorsett Holloway, Jamie (Eliana) Smith, Jarvis O’Neil Adams, Gary Antiel Holloway, Murphy Holloway, Tiffany Adams, Taleah Tolen, Javonte Adams, Chanelle Adams, Wendy (Leroy) Williams, Reverend Elizabeth (Myles) Newman; great-grandchildren – A’Shante Le’Ann and Aubrionna Williams, A.J. and Leila Moore, Christian, Isabella, Sophia and Israel Smith, Octavius Williams, Leigh and Jon Newman, Katie (Terry) Bennett, Desmond, Latrell, JaMarcus, DaMarcus Williams, Landon, London, Rihanna, Ace, Hendrix Holloway, Jorden Nine and Lyric Williams; one great-great-grandson – Easton; a devoted niece - Phyllis Holloway; very special cousins – Barbara and Aretha Solomon and Desby Saunders; two great-uncles – Eddie and Dorthy Holloway; one great-aunt, Ella Coleman; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
