Barbara Wise

Mrs. Barbara Wise, 60, daughter of the late Albert Lee and Georgia Jennings was born July 17, 1959 in Saluda County, South Carolina.  She departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at her home after an extended illness.  She was married to the late Alexander Wise for 41 years. 

Barbara was educated in the public schools of Lexington County District 3.  She joined Miracle Outreach Temple at a young age and became an evangelist.  She also served on the usher board, missionary and choir. Later, she joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and became a member of the Bryant-Hall Senior Missionary.  In September of 2016, she was diagnosed with metastatic carcinoid cancer.   

Barbara was a mighty woman of God who loved her family.  She was employed by J.B. Martin Company for 27 years.  She loved gardening.     

Those left to cherish her precious memories include:  two daughters – Latoya Baston and Miranda Wise, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two grandchildren – Leia and Logan Wise, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; three sisters – Mary Joyce (Joe) Stroman and Geraldine (Leon) Baston,  both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and Tonnie (John) Williams of St. Matthews, South Carolina; one brother – Steve Cannon of West Columbia, South Carolina; three God-children – Clifford Jennings of Florence, South Carolina, Shannon (Niketa) Wise of Odenton, Maryland and Victoria (Michael) Leaphart of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; mother-in-law – Minnie B. Allen of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; one sister-in-law – Lena Gortman of New York, New York; close friends – Mary Gunter, Patsy Lane and Merium Umbarger; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
