Carolyn (Cannon) Jay

Ms. Carolyn Jay, daughter of the late Mr. Horace Cannon, Jr. and the late Mrs. Carrie Mae Drafts Cannon, was born September 29, 1956. She entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, February 22, 2019 at her home in Columbia, SC.

Ms. Jay was a 1976 graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School.  Carolyn was a sweet lady who was soft spoken and loved her family.

She was formerly employed by Hardees for numerous years prior to her illness.

Ms. Jay was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Jay and a brother, Alphonso Drafts. 

Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving members are her stepmother, Mrs. Josephine Cannon of Batesburg, SC; her son, Tony (Kiona) Jay of the home; a loving daughter, Carrie Mae Jay of Dallas, TX; 6 grandchildren whom she loved dearly - Makaya, Ty, Harmony, Jasiah, Nyla, and Bryce; three brothers, James Drafts, Nathaniel Cannon, and Anthony Cannon of Batesburg-Leesville, SC; five sisters, Rebecca Drafts, Annette Devore, Betty Jean Cannon, and Robin (Bobbie) Gantt of Batesburg-Leesville, SC and Brenda (James Harp) of Duluth, GA; two uncles, JB Cannon and James Cannon of Batesburg-Leesville, SC; three aunts, Clara Bennett of Aiken, SC, Margaret Tolen and Sallie Hare of Batesburg-Leesville, SC, a very dear friend, Linda Maddox, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
