Debra Johnson Obituary

Debra Elizabeth Johnson 58, daughter of the late Johnnie “Bo” and Juanita Lindsay, born on November 1, 1960.  She departed early morning of August 9, 2019. Debra was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny C. Etheredge and sister, Maria Williams.

Debra was educated in the public school of Batesburg-Leesville.  She was a dedicated member of the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in various roles, deaconess, usher, and Sunday school teacher.  She touched many lives, her heart and hard work has always been devoted to children, starting with her years of service as a Girl Scout troop leader and countless hours in the classroom educating young learners.  Her most notable role is being the BEST GRANDMOTHER.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are; her loving husband of 40 years, Jessie Johnson; three daughters, Shakira Lindsay (Johnny Bryant), Jana Cook and Mercedes Johnson; four sons, Jessie Johnson (Jade Cox), Tyler Johnson, Deveto Johnson, Jerret Johnson (Tamera); one sister Barbara Landy; five brothers, Kelvin Lindsay, Clayton Lindsay, Clifton Lindsay (Angie), Maurice Lindsay, Neil Lindsay (Miaconti); two God-sisters, Shirley Wise and Dale Matthews, a God-brother, Rodney Gantt; two sisters-in-law, and ten brothers-in-law; two uncles, George Langford and Anthony Langford (Von); ten grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that love her.
