Lizzie (Williams) Etheredge

Mrs. Lizzie Williams Etheredge, 99, daughter of the late Howard and Mattie Gantt Williams was born June 20, 1920 in Lexington County, South Carolina.  She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 19, 2019 at Saluda Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Saluda, South Carolina. 

Mrs. Etheredge was educated in the public schools of Lexington County, South Carolina, graduating from Hampton High School.  She was married to the late Theodore Etheredge, Sr.

She was a member of Saint Matthew CME Church where she served as a Stewardess, Missionary and a member of the Senior Choir until her health began to decline.  She was employed by Rikards Nursing Home for many years.  She was preceded in death by one son, Theodore “Sonny” Etheredge, Jr.

Those left to cherish her precious memories and celebrate her life include:  her loving daughter – Mary E. Myers of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; six grandchildren – Joyce D. Williams of San Diego, California, Sherman O.  Robinson and Brian K. Robinson, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, Mark A. Robinson, Sr. of Norristown, Pennsylvania and Derryl B. (Lisa) Robinson of Wake Forest, North Carolina and PeTina Etheredge of Lexington, South Carolina; one sister – Mabel W. Drafts of Cleveland, Ohio; sixteen great-grandchildren, eighteen great-great-grandchildren, a host of step-grands, neighborhood grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
