Mary Betty Holloway

Mrs. Mary “Betty” Holloway, 78, daughter of the late Arthur and Mattie Sumpter, was born October 27, 1939.  On Saturday, April 21, 2018, she joined God’s Heavenly Choir.  

Mrs. Holloway graduated from Twin City High School, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, Class of 1958.  During her high school years, she enjoyed playing basketball and actively participated on the basketball team.  She was an active, dedicated and faithful member of Olive Branch Baptist Church. Mrs. Holloway was a member of the Unity Choir and she willingly supported the Kitchen Committee and various other activities in the church.

Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Jonah Sumpter.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband – Eddie Holloway of the home; two daughters – Priscilla (Tony) Mosley of Summerville, South Carolina and Denean (Floyd) Johnson of Columbia, South Carolina; one brother – James (Helen) Sumpter of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law – Virginia Sumpter and Judy Sumpter; four grandchildren, one great-grandson, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended Holloway family to include in-laws, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
