Ricardo Calvin Jones, Sr.

Ricardo Calvin Jones was born on May 25, 1973 in Columbia, SC. He departed this life on Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of Reginald and Rachel Green (Jones) of Columbia, SC, and brother of the predeceased Jessica Green of Columbia, SC.

After attending A.C. Flora High School, Ricardo became a dedicated employee of National Distributing Company Inc, where he served over 20 years. He was affectionately known throughout the beverage community as “Rico”.

Ricardo was outgoing and had a love for life and family to match. He never met a person who wasn’t a friend. Rarely would one encounter him where he wasn’t laughing and smiling. In his community, he was a protector and asset to his neighbors. If there was anything he could do for you, you could count on him to do so…oftentimes without asking. He enjoyed spending time at the gun range, fishing, and preparing meals with his family.

He is survived by his wife Darlene Jones, two sons Shaun Hewlett and Ricardo Jones Jr., a daughter Earlene Jones, all of Peachtree Corners, GA; and his parents Reginald and Rachel Green (Jones) of Columbia, SC. He leaves behind a host of family, extended family, and friends whose lives he touched immeasurably.
