Alene Smith

Ms. Alene Smith, 92, entered into a peaceful and prepared eternal home on Monday evening, March 22, 2021 at Opus Post-Acute Rehabilitation Center, West Columbia, South Carolina.

Born July 24, 1928 in Monetta, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Flossie Gantt.  She was educated in the public schools of Aiken County, South Carolina.

Alene joined Olive Branch Baptist Church, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina at an early age.  She was married to the late J.D. Smith.  Later, she relocated to New Jersey and made it her home for over 50 years.  She claimed the Liskin family as her own, raising each child from birth.  Adored by all, the Liskin family was a loving and caring family.  Her niece, Geraldine D. Williams and her family became her children after moving back to South Carolina due to health issues.

Alene was a proverbial woman – loving caring, kind.  She was such a loving woman who adored those she loved.  We all loved her dearly.  She knew God and was blessed and at peace.
