Claudia Keisler Obituary

Mrs. Claudia Louise Keisler, 76, daughter of the late James L. Johnson, Sr. and the late Viola Norris, was born January 30, 1945, in Lexington County, South Carolina. On Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Prisma Health Heart Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina, God sent an angel to guide her to eternal rest while surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Claudia Louise Keisler was educated in the public schools of Lexington County, Twin-City High School, Class of 1963.  After graduating, she went on to pursue a career as a seamstress at Lexington Sportswear and later to food processing at Amick Farms.

At an early age, she joined and became a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina.  In 1971, she met the late Allen O’Neal “Blue Boy” Keisler and the two were inseparable from that point on.  Claudia and Allen were married for over 30 years and had two children, Allen O’Neal Keisler, Jr. and Dwight Wesley Keisler.

Claudia was a fiercely dedicated mother to her children, raising both of them to go on and accomplish great things.  Family came first and was above all else to Claudia, a value she instilled in all those around her.  The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; four sisters, Laura Belle Price, Ruthie Lee Matthews, Juanita Lindsey and Millie Morris; and four brothers, Frank Wise, Roy Johnson, Nathan Hill and Charlie L. Johnson.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories:  two sons – Allen O’Neal Keisler, Jr. and Dwight Wesley Keisler, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; one daughter-in-law – Sybil Gail Keisler of BatesburgLeesville, South Carolina; four grandchildren – Stephen Keisler and Asia Keisler, both of Lexington, South Carolina and Quenton West and Tyneka West, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; five sisters – Mary Lou Wise, Lillian Davenport, Deloris Johnson and Martha Smith, all of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and Betty Jean Medlin of Dillon, South Carolina; two brothers – Willie (Evanise) Johnson and James Johnson, Jr., both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; seven brothers-in-law – James Strother, Kenneth Strother and Joe Mack (Marcy) Strother, all of Lexington, South Carolina, Aaron Keisler of Chicago, Illinois, Jerry Strother of Texas, Raymond (Sylvia) Strother of Florida and Toney Strother of West Columbia, South Carolina; three sisters-in-law – Linda Grove of Gilbert, South Carolina and Catherine Ann (Johnnie) Ratliff of West Columbia, South Carolina and Deloris Johnson of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
