On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Doris Wise Jones, the fourth child of the late Frankie and Louise Barr Wise, was called to her heavenly home. She was born September 24, 1956. Doris was married to James Arthur Jones and the beloved mother of three children; Sabrina, Katrina and Jamie.
Doris accepted Christ at an early age at the St. John CME Church, where she served as a missionary and a member of the Daisy Dosha Martha Circle.
Doris was educated in the Batesburg-Leesville school system. She was very involved with the planning of her high school reunion and enjoyed the comradery of her 1974 classmates.
Doris had a career in hospitality management that spanned over twenty years at which point she retired from Hospitality America, Incorporated.
Doris enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, cooking, and playing bingo. Along with a beautiful smile, she was well known for her stylish outfits and accessories that always made a statement. Her family was her passion as was her relationship with God. Although her passing was unexpected, we are called to remember the words of her favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
