Eddie Manzel Langford

Eddie “Manzel” Langford was born to Monica Langford and Eddie Frank Gortman on February 4, 1982 at Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, South Carolina.  On Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family, Manzel took his wings to be with the Lord.

From an early age, Manzel attended Tabernacle Baptist Church where he was a member of the Walker Singers.  He attended Batesburg-Leesville schools.  He was preceded in death by his baby brother, Jamille Gortman.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  his mother and father – Monica Langford of the home and Eddie Frank Gortman of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two sisters – Crystal Gortman and Ollegra Langford, both of Lexington, South Carolina; maternal grandmother – Elease Langford of the home; paternal grandmother – Josephine Sadie Robinson of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; three aunts – Sandra Shepherd, Debra Langford and Sheron Langford, all of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two uncles – Elroy (Lydia) Gortman of Lexington, South Carolina and Everette Gortman of Charlotte, North Carolina; nine cousins reared in the home as sisters and brothers – Leon, Shemika, Shanta, Quinton, CJ, Ron, Trise, Fayon and Olivia; a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
