Ms. Emma Julia “Ma Sal” Dennis was born March 18, 1948 in Gilbert, South Carolina to the late LeFeaster and Lula Mae Dennis. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
At an early age, Emma joined Saint John CME Church, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina where she served on the Usher Board. She later attended One Way White Cross in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. She then settled down at New Fellowship Outreach Ministries, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina where she served as the Mother of the Church. She was employed by Lexington School District 3 until her health began to decline.
Emma became a second mother to any child who entered her home. She helped raise many members of her family. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know her knew she had wisdom and a heart of gold. She loved God, family, church and pastors.
In addition to both of her parents, Emma was preceded in death by two sisters, Osie Mae Dennis and Mable Coleman; three brothers, Willie Frank Dennis, Sammie Lee “Buster” Dennis and George Dennis and two sons, Ray Anthony Dennis and Tommy Lee Dennis.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two daughters – Renee Dennis of Columbia, South Carolina and Regina Dennis of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two sons – Randy (Jasmine) Dennis of Lexington, South Carolina and Julius Wise of the home; grandchildren – Seaman Ti’arrianna Reed, Aniya Coleman, Daedalus Derrick, Ta’Niyah Dennis, Nori Simon, Cai’Leigh Dennis, Julianna Derrick; D’Aundre Dennis, Jurnee Wise, Rylee Wise, Azariah Lesane, Sy’Reanna Partlow; a special nephew she raised – Cadadrian Etheredge; sister-in-law – Cathy Dennis of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
