Mrs. Evetta M. Cook, 92, daughter of the late David and Lula Dozier, was born July 30, 1927 in Saluda County, South Carolina. On Monday, July 27, 2020, God sent an angel to escort her to her heavenly home from Lexington Medical Center Extended Care, Lexington, South Carolina. She was married to the late Ernest L. Cook.
Mrs. Cook was educated in the public schools of Saluda County. At an early age, she joined Christian Chapel F.B.H. Church where she served faithfully as Chairwoman of Deacons and Missionary Society President.
Mrs. Cook had several special nieces and nephews she helped raise – Bobby (Martha) Dozier, Sr., Jae Edmunds, Betty Kinard, Linda (Odell) Anderson and Janice (James) Cannon.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Cook; sisters, Rosa Coleman, Essie Wiggins and Ann Dozier; a son, David L. Cook; grandson, Willie Staley and a nephew she helped raise, Jimmy Wiggins.
Those left to cherish her precious memories include: her loving and devoted daughters – Doris Chelune and Eva Mae McNair; brother – David (Ernestine) Dozier, Jr.; daughter-in-law – Jessie M. Cook; sisters-in-law – Elvira Cannon and Katerine (Henry) Bowers; fourteen grandchildren, sixty-nine great-grandchildren, sixty-five great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and the Christian Chapel Church Family.
