Mrs. Georgina Smith Foulks, affectionately known as “GiGi”, was born December 2, 1975 to George Shepherd and Frances Smith Long in Jamaica Queens, New York. On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, God added her golden voice to his heavenly choir after an extended illness from Augusta, Georgia.
GiGi was educated in the public schools of Lexington School District 3, graduating from Batesburg-Leesville High School. She furthered her education and received a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources from the University of Phoenix, Columbia, South Carolina. She was married to Richard Foulks.
GiGi was a member of Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina where she sang on the choir. She was a strong, loving and caring mother, daughter, sister & wife. The songbird that would help anyone in need. She was a teacher of pure love, the most beautiful soul with the voice of an angel. She touched many with her kind words and songs from the soul and that big, beautiful smile.
Those left to cherish her precious memories and celebrate her life include: her mother – Frances Smith Long of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; her father – George Shepherd of Queens, New York; a loving husband – Richard Foulks of the home; two daughters – Kymbrea S. Smith (Sheenae) and Janequee Foulks; two sons – Malik Haltiwanger and Zachary Haltiwanger; five grandchildren – Sha’Niyah, Kyree, Janiyah, Khaleah and Jayla; a God-daughter – Teylor McKiever; one God-son – Jhais McKiever; four sisters – Shirley (Danny) Wise, Debbie Smith (Charles), Brenda S. Lindsay and Veronica Shepherd; one aunt – Mary Smith Hair; two uncles – James (Judy) Smith of Monetta, South Carolina and Carl (Shirley) Smith of Queens, New York; sisters in Christ – Tracey Coleman, Nichole Gantt, Monique Chaney, Chrystal Roland and Sherrie Smith; mother-in-law – Gwen Foulks; brother-in-law – Patrick Foulks; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.
