James Earl Smith “Pecan” was the son of the late Frances Ruth and Robert Sullivan.
James was born September 28, 1960 in Lexington, SC. He departed his life on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at home surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shaquanah Jones and son, Trovakas Tromaine Harris.
He leaves to cherish his memories and carry on his legacy: wife – Shirley Smith of the home; six children – Keosha Jennings (Shonta Croft), James Earl Smith, Jr., Shelia Jones (Michael Jones), Romanda Cannon (Faird Batley) of the home, Gresham Cannon, Emmanuel Cannon; eight grandchildren – Mitravius Corley of the home, Zahkira Ray, Tavianna Ray, Andreya Dukes, Bishop Jones, Kay’onte Jones, Travon Jackson and Taeshon Jackson; two great-grandchildren – Kaiden Jones and Kamilla Sarden; four brothers – Tony Ruth, Teddy Ruth, James R. Smith and Roderick Smith (Denise Smith); four sisters – Monica Ruth, Ronica Jones (Michael Jones), Rose Mary Smith and Betty Smith; two sisters-in-law – Geraldine Staley and Margaretta Hill; two brothers-in-law Joseph Morris (Viola Morris) and Freddie Morris; God-children – Kisherri Smith and Sherrayne Cade; best friends – Danareal Cannon and John Riley of Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews and friends that will truly miss him.
