Marie Simpkins Obituary
Ms. Marie Simpkins (Wise) entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at her home in Lexington, South Carolina. Born in Lexington County September 24, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Simpkins, Sr. and the late Suyretha Davis Simpkins.
Marie was a graduate of the Twin City High School, Class of 1964. She joined the Saint John CME Church as a teenager. She sang on the choir for a short while and then decided to depart from the choir.
Her hobbies were sewing, going on sporting events with her grandson, Aquavious, outings and shopping with her daughter and family members. Marie always had a beautiful smile. To know her was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion “Pee Wee” Wise and four siblings, Clarence Simpkins, Jr., John D. Simpkins, Freddie Simpkins and Joan Johnson.
Those left to cherish her precious memory include: a loving and devoted daughter – Melody Wise Triplin of the home; a grandson – Aquavious Triplin of the home; a sister – LaChanze Colter of Lexington, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
