Ms. Mary “Mae” Ruth Johnson, daughter of Mrs. Sallie Mae Johnson Cannon and the late Clyde Johnson was born June 10, 1956. She was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2020.
Mae was a member of Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Batesburg-Leesville High School.
Mae was loved and respected by all that she met. She was well known for her creativity with jewelry making and bringing a smile to others. She was an all-around fun soul.
Mae was predeceased by her father and her son, James Bernard Johnson.
She leaves to mourn her passing and celebrate her life: her mother – Sallie Mae Johnson Cannon of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two daughters – Hydiea Johnson and Ceretta Johnson, both of New Haven, Connecticut; one son – Bobby (Cindy) Johnson of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; seven grandchildren – Shaun Johnson, Cody Johnson, Christina Johnson, Jayme Johnson, Jarquavian Isreal, A’mon Johnson and Nas’Ceir Johnson-Allick; great-grandchildren – Janelle and Haven Johnson; two brothers – Charles Johnson and Clyde Johnson, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two sisters – Mary Johnson and Teresa Ann Martin, both of New Haven, Connecticut; daughter-in-law – Danielle Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends who will miss her dearly.
