Ms. Phyllis Marie Cannon-Washington, 64, daughter of the late Willie and Eliza M. Cannon, was born January 18, 1957 in Saluda County, South Carolina. After an extended illness, on Sunday, November 7, 2021, she was granted her wings and welcomed to her heavenly home.
Phyllis was a graduate of Wilbur Lee High School, New Haven, Connecticut. She played on the baseball team in high school. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she served as the Sunday School Secretary. She was also a member of the Senior Choir and served on the Usher Board. Phyllis enjoyed cooking and being with her family.
Phyllis was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers, Joel Williams and John Cannon; one sister, Wilma Cannon; three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, several nephews and nieces.
Those left to cherish her memories and celebrate her life include: one loving daughter – Justine L. Cannon of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; one grandson – Cameron D. Cannon of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; three sisters – Mary L. Adams and Annie Dozier, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina and Frances Hendrix of Gilbert, South Carolina; five brothers – James T. Williams of New Haven, Connecticut, Lucius and Brooks Landy, both of Alabama, Johnnie P. Williams and Wilbur Cannon, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; two aunts – Sallie M. Cannon and Susie Summers, both of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends who will miss her dearly.
