Ruby Mae Lites-Gary, 75, was born on April 8, 1945 in Lexington County, South Carolina to the late Eugene Lites and Girley Haltiwanger. She departed this earthly life on Friday, August 21, 2020. She was married to John Edward Gary.
Ruby Mae was educated at the Rosenwald School in Lexington, South Carolina. She was a member of Spring Hill AME Church, Gilbert, South Carolina. Ruby Mae was employed by Clayton Rawls for many years.
She was predeceased by both parents, three brothers, Roy Ray Lites, Johnny Lee Lites, Sr. and Roosevelt Lites; a sister, Ansidale Peebles and one son, Sammy Lee Gary.
Those left to cherish her precious memories include: three loving daughters – Dianne (Leslie) Anderson of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, Janice Gary and Shelby (Preston) Kennedy, both of Gilbert, South Carolina; three loving sons – Johnny Lytes and Rodney (Rolanda) Gary, both of Gilbert, South Carolina and Jody (Pamela) Gary of New York; her two loving sisters – Betty (Charles) Lytes of Edmond, South Carolina and Janie Mae (Thomas) Adams of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; one loving brother – Morris (Thelma) Lytes of Delaware; twenty-four grandchildren, forty-two great-grandchildren, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
