Therone Shentall Bowers was born in Lexington, South Carolina on December 19, 1986. On Monday, April 5, 2021, he entered into eternal rest.
He was a 2005 graduate of Gilbert High School where he was well liked and respected by faculty, staff and fellow students. At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and joined the St. Mark Baptist Church. He was employed by Southeast Trucking.
Therone was always full of positivity and love. You could expect to find him Polo-down from head to toe, he had a classy, confident style that was unforgettable. Therone was athletic and energetic he loved to play basketball. He played point guard throughout his junior high and high school years. He also loved to cheer on his favorite football team, the New England Patriots.
He had an infectious smile that always lit up a room, he loved to laugh and dance. Just seeing him on the dance floor gave life to everyone. His family could never get enough of watching dance-offs with his Uncle Thayer and his cousins. He loved his mother dearly and treated her like a queen. His love for his children shined just as brightly as his smile, spending quality time with and providing for them was his passion. He was a devoted father.
Therone was truly a generous soul. He was always looking to lend a helping hand. If you ever needed him, he was always there. His giving heart, love for his family, and joyful spirit will forever be cherished and missed by the countless people whose lives he touched.
Therone was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Baston and his paternal grandfather, Curtis Watkins.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories: two children – Jaiden Alexis Bowers and Tyson Amauri Bowers, both of Lexington, South Carolina; father – Roderick E. Wise of Columbus, Ohio; mother – Alexis Diahann Bowers of Columbia, South Carolina; adoptive father – Stephone Taylor of Columbia, South Carolina, brothers – Quincy Bowers and Brandon Bowers, both of Columbia South Carolina and Roderick (Tamika) Freeman of Johnston, South Carolina; sister – Ashley Freeman of Monetta, South Carolina; other siblings – Tina (Anthony) Morris of Aiken, South Carolina and Shayla Stukes of Columbia, South Carolina, Jessyka Jamison of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephanie Taylor of Columbia, South Carolina, Frederick Waldo of Norfolk, Virginia, Jawaun Taylor of Columbia, South Carolina, Devin Taylor of Greensboro, North Carolina, Daryryl and Shytavius Taylor, both of Columbia, South Carolina; maternal grandfather – Jackie C. Bowers of California; paternal grandmother – Millerstine Watkins of Aiken, South Carolina; Godparents – Eddie and Brenda Sapp of Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina; best friends – Eddie Sapp, Carlos Ligons, Jacoby Marshall and Travious Dreher, all of Lexington, South Carolina; a Godson – Christian Jace Worley; five uncles, eight great-aunts, one great-uncle and a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends who will cherish his memory.
